How to Measure

Measuring windows for blinds installation is a very simple and non-time consuming process. Every identical window may vary in size, you should measure each window individually to avoid mistakes.


Please follow the guidelines below carefully before measuring windows for blinds:

• Always use a measuring tape for accuracy.
• Decide if your blinds will be installed inside or outside of the window frame.
• The position of handles, bars or tiles and the depth of a window can affect the fit of the blinds.
Always take these into account when determining the fit.
• When measuring, round off to the nearest inches ( " ).
• Always indicate the WIDTH, followed by the DROP (W x D).
• Please ensure that all measurements are accurate for an exact fit.



INSIDE WINDOW FRAME
To measure a window for the blinds to be installed on the inside of the window frame.

• Width
Measure the EXACT inside width of the window (as per illustration).

NOTE: It is recommended to measure the top part of the window as well as the bottom part of the window, then get the smallest size available. The windows might not be as straight as you can see with your eyes!


• Drop
Measure the EXACT inside drop of the window (as per illustration).

Important: When measuring for Inside Window Frame, DO NOT make any allowance for clearance. The factory will make the necessary deductions for clearance.



OUTSIDE WINDOW FRAME
To measure a window for the blinds to be installed on the face of the window frame and cover the total window area.

• Width
Measure the EXACT outside width of the window (as per illustration).

• Drop
Measure the EXACT outside drop of the window (as per illustration).

NOTE: If you have no architraves - to minimize light gaps and obtain maximum privacy, add 3" (inches) to 4" (inches) on each side of the window frame.



INSIDE DOOR FRAME
To measure a door for the blinds to be installed on the inside of the door frame.

Always consider any obstructions such as door handles, bars, and the depth of the door frame for the best fit.

IMPORTANT: It is highly recommended that two blinds be fitted into a sliding patio door for greater versatility as well as ease of use.

• Width
Measure the EXACT inside width of the door (as per illustration).

NOTE: It is recommended to measure the top part of the door as well as the bottom part of the door, then get the smallest size available. The door might not be as straight as you can see with your eyes!

• Drop

Measure the EXACT inside drop of the door (as per illustration).


OUTSIDE DOOR FRAME
To measure a door for the blinds to be installed on the face of the door frame and will cover the total door area.

Always consider any obstructions such as door handles, bars, and the depth of the door frame for the best fit.

IMPORTANT: It is highly recommended that two blinds be fitted into a sliding patio door for greater versatility as well as ease of use.
